Lahaul Valley is a hidden valley and is a perfect place to travel for those travellers that are seeking adventure , tranquility , peace and some time of their busy life schedule. It is nestled in the Himalayas located in the beautiful state of Himachal Pradesh , India and it is actually popularly known as Lahaul Spiti Valley. Lahaul Valley is known for its rugged terrain, ancient monasteries and just the raw breathtaking beauty that it offers to the travellers.

As you drive to reach the Lahaul Valley, you'll be struck by the dramatic change in the landscape. The lush green Kullu Manali valley gives way to barren yet beautiful terrain of Lahaul Valley. There are 2 routes to reach Lahaul Valley : either going from Rohtang pass or from Atal tunnel. If you are more of an adventurous person you can take up the route as it is a high altitude mountain pass that offers stunning views of snow - capped mountains. If you are one of my type who loves to reach the destination first and then explore it then you can take up the Atal tunnel route as it not only reduces the travel time but also it provides accessibility to Lahaul Valley all round the year .

Best Time to Visit : June to September for pleasant weather and accessible roads and if you are fond of snow or snowfall just like me then visit in December, January
Must Try : Local cuisines , including thukpa and momos
Some Tips : Carry warm clothing as temperatures at night are quite low , Carry sunscreen to protect yourself from direct sun and take a day or two to acclimatize properly to avoid altitude sickness especially for those who are visiting for the first time
