A wise man has said .. TO BE HAPPY IN LIFE KEEP EXPECTATIONS LOW!

It is a proven fact that people who keep their expectations low tend to be happier than those who set theirs higher. The reason is clear. Disappointment is one of the major causes of sadness and discontent. Lower expectations naturally lead to fewer disappointments

But maintaining low expectations is difficult as humans, we tend to regularly set new expectations as our circumstances change.

There were times when a graduation was considered as an achievement, while even an MBA degree today is not satisfying ..

People working in organizations aims for lucrative renumerations .. at the cost of loosing peace in life ..

Every Hindu has great regds for lessons in Bhagat Gita .. where the whole central idea revolves round sacrificing the materialistic desires ( maya ) .. the more a humanbeing is excited about it .. he suffers the consequences ..

What are your views.. are Expectations premediated resentments??

I think it depends on person ability to accept defeat / failures.
There is a popular say.. Eye for Moon at least you will land up with stars.
If People keep higher expectations, then they should not be demotivated on being unsuccessful. If people have low expectations, then may be people tend to just not add that driving force, that additional push, which would have helped them achieve more.
Good has its place, but Excellent is best and rewardable.

Rightly said by Helper.. Expectations are like double edged swords- great in helping you succeed, but a large factor in your getting depressed if you don't.

High expectations combined with low actual achievement, plus no hope of altering attainment levels, is an ideal recipe for personal misery.

Taking our case- we as a society are generaly getting wealtheir as our attainments are rising and hence it should mean we are becoming happier. However social psychological surveys tend to find that the hapiness of wealthy societies in India is stubbornly static ..

not always, but to believe in this means one cannot b adventurous
for a professional expectation shudnt mean much,as he shud do wat is to b done
