EVENT MANAGER

The Event Manager is the person who plans and executes the event. Event managers and their teams are often behind-the-scenes running the event.

Event managers may also be involved in more than just the planning and execution of the event, but also brand building, marketing and communication strategy.

The event manager is an expert at event design, audio-visual production, scriptwriting, logistics, budgeting, negotiation and, of course, client service.

It is a multi-dimensional profession.

Work of an event manager involves conceptualising an occasion keeping in mind the requirements as well as objectives of the client, planning the event, coordinating with different agencies to organise the event, seeking permission from various government authorities, visualising the stage design, arranging performers and media promoters for the event etc.

They have to look into each and every minute detail, set goals and meet deadlines to make the event a spectacle.

Developing an excellent reputation is the best way to ensure ongoing work.

Event managers need to have a firm understanding of the event planned and the reasons for holding it: the What, Where, Why and Who?

What type of event is to be held and what is the budget?

Where is it to be held?

Why is the event being held?

Who is the event being held for, who are the supporters, and who is to be involved?
