Asian equity markets kicked off the week mostly higher on Monday on the back of positive economic data from the world’s second largest economy and after strong US jobs data spurred gains on Wall Street at the end of last week.

China’s Shanghai Composite was up 0.15 percent or 3.35 points at 2,240.46.

Hong Kong’s Hang Seng added 0.45 percent or 107.69 points at 23,850.79.

Japan’s Nikkei gained 1.91 percent or 292.52 points at 15,592.38.

Singapore’s Straits Times added 0.36 percent or 11.19 points at 3,125.36.

South Korea’s Seoul Composite jumped 1.02 percent or 20.21 points at 2,000.62.

Taiwan’s Taiwan Weighted rose 1.25 percent or 104.42 points at 8,472.13.

Asian markets were trading mostly lower on Tuesday. Hong Kong%u2019s Hang Seng shed 0.37 percent or 87.05 points at 23,724.12.

Japan%u2019s Nikkei declined 0.36 percent or 56.80 points at 15,593.41 and Singapore%u2019s Straits Times was flat at 3,110.97.

South Korea%u2019s Seoul Composite fell 0.35 percent or 6.97 points at 1,993.41 and Taiwan%u2019s Taiwan Weighted was down 0.09 percent or 7.41 points at 8,437.21.

However, China%u2019s Shanghai Composite rose 0.49 percent or 10.94 points at 2,249.14.

Asian equity markets followed their Wall Street counterparts lower on Thursday amid speculation that the Federal Reserve could pull back on its stimulus program soon.

Hong Kong%u2019s Hang Seng was down 0.11 percent or 25.26 points at 23,312.98.

Japan%u2019s Nikkei slipped 1.16 percent or 179.67 points at 15,335.39.

Singapore%u2019s Straits Times fell 0.33 percent or 10.23 points at 3,050.51.

South Korea%u2019s Seoul Composite shed 0.57 percent or 11.23 points at 1,966.74.

Taiwan%u2019s Taiwan Weighted declined 0.45 percent or 37.55 points at 8,396.22.

China%u2019s Shanghai Composite was flat at 2,206.19.

Asian stocks were mixed on the final trading day of the week following a weak US lead as investors continued to speculate on when the Federal Reserve may cut down on its stimulus.

China%u2019s Shanghai Composite was down 0.36 percent or 7.90 points at 2,194.89.

Hong Kong%u2019s Hang Seng was flat at 23,200.34.

Japan%u2019s Nikkei was up 0.17 percent or 26.37 points at 15,368.19 and Taiwan%u2019s Taiwan Weighted rose 0.16 percent or 13.68 points at 8,375.01.

Singapore%u2019s Straits Times shed 0.46 percent or 14.04 points at 3,045 and South Korea%u2019s Seoul Composite declined 0.67 percent or 13.22 points at 1,954.71.

Asian stocks followed their US counterparts higher on Thursday after the Federal Reserve unveiled a cut in monetary stimulus but vowed to keep interest rates low. China%u2019s Shanghai Composite was up 0.12 percent or 2.64 points at 2,150.93.

Hong Kong%u2019s Hang Seng rose 0.66 percent or 152.71 points at 23,296.53.

Japan%u2019s Nikkei gained 1.61 percent or 250.75 points at 15,838.55.

Singapore%u2019s Straits Times added 0.40 percent or 12.38 points at 3074.16.

South Korea%u2019s Seoul Composite jumped 0.57 percent or 11.19 points at 1,985.82.

Taiwan%u2019s Taiwan Weighted advanced 0.63 percent or 52.24 points at 8,401.28.
