Asian equity markets kicked off the week mostly higher on Monday on the back of positive economic data from the world’s second largest economy and after strong US jobs data spurred gains on Wall Street at the end of last week.
China’s Shanghai Composite was up 0.15 percent or 3.35 points at 2,240.46.
Hong Kong’s Hang Seng added 0.45 percent or 107.69 points at 23,850.79.
Japan’s Nikkei gained 1.91 percent or 292.52 points at 15,592.38.
Singapore’s Straits Times added 0.36 percent or 11.19 points at 3,125.36.
South Korea’s Seoul Composite jumped 1.02 percent or 20.21 points at 2,000.62.
Taiwan’s Taiwan Weighted rose 1.25 percent or 104.42 points at 8,472.13.
