China’s Shanghai Composite was flat at 2,218.89.
Hong Kong’s Hang Seng was up 0.14 percent or 33.81 points at 23,822.90.
Japan’s Nikkei was flat at 15,726.83.
Singapore’s Straits Times was down 0.33 percent or 10.67 points at 3,175.70.
South Korea’s Seoul Composite rose 0.20 percent or 4.15 points at 2,049.92.
Taiwan’s Taiwan Weighted added 0.41 percent or 34.38 points at 8,396.81.

Epic Asian Markets Update

Asian shares kicked off December mixed after a survey of Chinese factory activity posted steady growth in November, confirming expectations that the world%u2019s second-largest economy is stabilizing.

China%u2019s Shanghai Composite rose 0.47 percent or 10.54 points at 2,231.04. Hong Kong%u2019s Hang Seng gained 0.74 percent or 176.57 points at 24,057.86.

Japan%u2019s Nikkei was down 0.18 percent or 28.56 points at 15,633.31. Singapore%u2019s Straits Times was up 0.14 percent or 4.54 points at 3,180.89.

Epic Asian Markets Update

Japanese shares rose to a new six-month peak on Tuesday thanks to supportive comments from the Bank of Japan, while the rest of the region declined on the back of a negative US lead.

China%u2019s Shanghai Composite shed 0.30 percent or 6.61 points at 2,200.76.

Hong Kong%u2019s Hang Seng plunged 0.78 percent or 187.47 points at 23,851.08.

Japan%u2019s Nikkei rose 0.52 percent or 81.20 points at 15,736.27.

Singapore%u2019s Straits Times was flat at 3,190.98.

South Korea%u2019s Seoul Composite declined 0.57 percent or 11.49 points at 2,019.29.

Taiwan%u2019s Taiwan Weighted fell 0.21 percent or 17.35 points at 8,397.26.

Asian equity markets lost ground on Wednesday with Japan leading losses on the back of a slightly stronger yen after shares on Wall Street extended their losses into a third session Tuesday.

Hong Kong%u2019s Hang Seng declined 0.69 percent or 164.72 points at 23,745.75.

Japan%u2019s Nikkei plunged 2.40 percent or 378.46 points at 15,371.20.

Singapore%u2019s Straits Times was down 0.13 percent or 4.02 points at 3,183.65.

South Korea%u2019s Seoul Composite shed 0.97 percent or 19.47 points at 1,989.89.

Taiwan%u2019s Taiwan Weighted was flat at 8,400.19.
