Asian markets were trading mixed on Monday. China’s Shanghai Composite was up 0.35 percent or 7.60 points at 2,199.45. Singapore’s Straits Times shed 0.72 percent or 23.40 points at 3,214.13. South Korea’s Seoul Composite was up 0.10 percent or 1.96 points at 2,007.54. Taiwan’s Taiwan Weighted rose 0.44 percent or 36.27 points at 8,245.45. Hang Seng and Nikkei markets are shut today.

Asian shares slipped and the dollar inched higher in early Asian trade on Wednesday, as concerns about a possible US government shutdown and uncertainty about the US Federal Reserve%u2019s policy outlook made investors hesitant to take aggressive positions, reported Reuters.

South Korea%u2019s Seoul Composite fell 0.74 percent or 14.92 points at 1,992.18. Taiwan%u2019s Taiwan Weighted shed 0.50 percent or 41.34 points at 8,257.78. China%u2019s Shanghai Composite slipped 0.20 percent or 4.49 points at 2,203.04. Japan%u2019s Nikkei was down 0.19 percent or 27.48 points at 14,705.13. Singapore%u2019s Straits Times was flat at 3,211.75. Hong Kong%u2019s Hang Seng was up 0.19 percent or 43.66 points at 23,222.70.

Japan%u2019s Nikkei added 0.57%u0025 or 82.77 points at 14,538.57.

Singapore%u2019s Straits Times gained 0.76% or 24.19 points at 3,192.06.

South Korea%u2019s Seoul Composite rose 0.73% or 14.49 points at 2,011.45.

Taiwan%u2019s Taiwan Weighted advanced 0.48% or 38.93 points at 8,212.80.
