Asian stocks edged up on Thursday following a positive lead from Wall Street, while fresh measures to shore up the rupee unveiled by India’s new central bank chief could set a positive tone for emerging markets throughout the region, reported Reuters.
Hong Kong’s Hang Seng added 0.76 percent or 169.62 points at 22,495.84.
Japan’s Nikkei was flat at 14,053.36.
Singapore’s Straits Times rose 0.91 percent or 27.39 points at 3,042.81.
South Korea’s Seoul Composite gained 0.66 percent or 12.70 points at 1,945.73.
Taiwan’s Taiwan Weighted was up 0.47 percent or 37.93 points at 8,121.37.
China’s Shanghai Composite shed 0.40 percent or 8.59 points at 2,119.03.
