XLRI Jamshedpur has launched a unique full-time six-month program in the domain of entrepreneurship management titled post graduate programme for certificate in entrepreneurship management (PGP-CEM) in the year 2010, under the department named Entrepreneurship Development Centre (EDC).
PGP-CEM has been designed to provide competency-based education to the eligible candidates with a view to promoting entrepreneurship across India. The programme is being carried in such a manner as to encourage critical and lateral thinking and integrate theory with practice. The ultimate objective is to:
a. to create effective and successful entrepreneurs out of those who have no exposure to this vocation, but have an inclination and desire to turn into such entities, and
b. to enhance the skills of those who are currently functioning as such.
The institute believes in 3 learning pillars of quality management education, which is not only relevant in modern day management and entrepreneurial studies but also proved to be the most tested and significant cause of success:
1. Learning from classroom.
2. Peer learning.
3. Networking.
And, it is needless to mention that XLRI Jamshedpur provides this total quality education to its students and ensure their success.
The curriculum has been designed carefully in order to ensure that courses included in this programme, contain not only the usual inputs on functional areas of business like finance, marketing, strategy and human resource (HR) etc., but also fields of specific interest in the context of entrepreneurial development in India like women entrepreneurship, family business, agripreneurship, technopreneurship and social enterprises.
The curriculum consists of three different categories of courses-the ones of foundational nature, the ones which are intended to enhance the entrepreneurial skills and those which impart an integrative approach to business.
The details of the curriculum and the number of contact hours involved may be modified if and when such modification is considered necessary for making the programme operationally more efficacious.
Graduates from any recognised university having an interest in entrepreneurship can apply for this programme. The course fee for this program has been fixed at Rs 70,000 only, which along with service tax and applicable cess etc., will be required to be paid in two equal installments. The last date for applying to this programme is June 15, 2016.
