Entre Fair at IIM Ahmedabad
Entre Fair is a platform which will give you an opportunity to work in a start-up and get exposure in newly emerging businesses. Over the years, the Entrepreneurship Club of IIMA, in association with the Placement Committee and Centre for Innovation Incubation and Entrepreneurship (CIIE[/b]), has been organizing this annual event to facilitate interaction among start-ups and students. It is the only national student-driven placement fair dedicated to startups.
The event was on 18th and 19th of september 2015. A summary:
18th Sep:
After the inauguration of the Entre fair 2015, there was a panel discussion with Ashish Nanda, Director of IIMA and Budding Entrepreneurs who are Alumns from IIMA.
It was followed by a talk from Mr. Saurav of the company Brand Accelerator. Next was a talk by Venture Capital firms Accel Partners and Mumbai Angels, who talked to the audience about the intricacies of being, and working with a VC firm.
19th Sep:
Entre Fair 2015, was open to all the students from Ahmedabad and the footfalls were more than 600 from morning till evening. Students had a chance to interact with many startups like Zopper, Innobytes, UpGrad, Nessa, TeachForIndia and many more. Some of the students said that " It is a great opportunity for them to interact with so many startups at the same time in the same place". Also, the variety in the backgrounds of the firms was also huge. Some of the backgrounds are technology, e-commerce, education, energy etc. The kinds of roles offered were also diverse which suited students coming from different educational backgrounds.
There was a speaker session with Mr. Rony Screwala, who was the producer of some very famous movies like Rang de Basanti and Jodha Akbar. He talked about his own entrepreneurial journey and encouraged students to pursue their passions.
