Engineers messing the world

We say, engineers make the world a better place to live. There are two views that I want to present :-

1. Thry have created a new world around us. We've built bridges, tall buildings, automobiles, mobile phones, digital cameras and what not.

2. In the process, they have totally messed up with the nature! We are responsible for polluting the nature, damaging natural resources et al.

What do you think?
 
well our environment was most suffered in 19th century,in fact watever was developed in 20th century wasnt doing much harm to the nature,well measures are taken to conserve natural resources and environmant but until common man is aware of its danger and consequences we can make little change,but we sure eliminate materials/devices harmfull for environment
 
u cant say tht engineers have messed up our world..wt will u do without television,cars,digital cameras and mobie phones..rather u will be messed up and bored with the life without all the things ..just imagine 1 week without tv or rather without cell phone ..leave both rather imagine without facebook..its a law of nature tht to acheive something,something has to be forgone...if u want technology ,then there has to be its ill effects in the form of pollution.
 
There were group of proffessional travelling to a place. The conversation goes like this:

Engineer: We build lives and we are great
Doctor: We are the people who heal the people so we are great
Scientist: We make lots of research and find new things for a better human so we are gr8
Management graduate: Though you all do these things finally we are the people who is going to manage all these things and we are ultimate
