Ahmedabad, January 10: Amaethon, the annual Food, Agribusiness and Rural Management Summit organized by the students of IIM Ahmedabad, is set to be held on the 11th and 12th of this month.
The business summit is centred around the theme of “Emerging Landscapes in Food and Agribusiness” this year and it aims to capture the prevailing dynamism in the agribusiness sector by bringing students, academia and professionals to a common platform. The highlights of the summit include a unique Management Development Module open to students and professionals, business events and panel discussions.
The three panel discussions on Agribusiness, Food and Rural Development will feature distinguished names like Mr Atul Chaturvedi, Chief Executive Officer, Adani Wilmar Ltd; Mr Siraj Hussain, Secretary, Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MOFPI), Government of India; Mr Yoginder K. Alagh, former Union Minister and noted Economist; Mr R. Subrahmanyam, Joint Secretary, MGNREGA, Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India and Mr Cephas P. Charles, Senior President – Operations ABT Industries Ltd. (ABTIL) - Dairy Division, Sakthi Group of Companies.
The flagship events of Amaethon 2014 include Venture Challenge, a business plan competition and Rural Crusaders, a rural marketing event. The events will give an opportunity to budding entrepreneurs and teams from management schools across the country to showcase their ideas, marketing plans and business acumen in the domains of Agribusiness, Food and Rural Management.
Workshops at Amaethon 2014 are designed for skill development and knowledge transfer to students across the county. The Rural Marketing Workshop will be conducted by Mr. Pradeep Kashyap, Founder and CEO, MART, the Supply Chain and Logistics Workshop will be conducted by IIMA faculty in partnership with ScNext and Food and Agribusiness Entrepreneurship Workshop will be conducted by Mr. Ashutosh Kumar Sinha, Co-Founder & Director, Villgro Innovations Marketing.
The principal partner for Amaethon 2014 is Monsanto India Pvt. Limited while Gujarat Agro Industries Corporation Ltd. is the associate partner. Session partners are Gujarat State Fertilizers and Chemicals Ltd. (GFSC) and the Sakhti Group.
