Elevator pitch v0.4

Slide 1:

Imagine…
Plight of a student ? a missed opportunity to go to a better college Plight of a college ? dearth of illustrious alumni base or framework to organize a placement or a fest Plight of a faculty ? a struggle to engage students effectively Plight of an alumni ? inability to give back to his alma mater Plight of a corporate ? lots of effort and money used to make students come onboard

So what is the problem here? The thing that is missing is a platform to collaborate, the tools to excel, crossing the boundaries of brick and mortar campuses. Today we present TheExtraaEdge.com, with a mission to Enrich Academic Avenues Introduction: A very Happy Morning. I am Abhishek Ballabh with my colleague Sushil Mundada ?we’re engineers by qualification, but students for life.

Slide2: Academic journey is about the knowledge you gain and networks you build. Does that really happen for everyone?? For example - In an engineering setup, we find a vast discrepancy in terms of resources, opportunities, exposure, hence students lack in confidence, skills and awareness. In short the extra edge.

Slide3: TheExtraaEdge.com is a platform that caters to the entire academic ecosystem. So how do we build such a platform??

Through an online portal which would be a backbone of our services with complementary offline cocurricular activities. We have listed few of them here for your reference. For example ? our online admissions application, through which we empower prospective, engineering students to choose courses. And we’ll complement this by our offline counseling sessions.

Slide4: We are aware that this is a vast undertaking; hence we need to forge alliances to leverage their expertise. By doing so we provide them a unique and wide platform to connect with our users. For example ? Faculty and industry experts who through our online discussion forum would provide their wisdom to the students across different tiers.

Slide5: Now as we have taken care of bread and butter, let’s talk about honey and jam which would not just As examples of some of our visionary services, we would help lower tier colleges to inculcate best practices from other colleges and start organizing open industrial visits or trainings for our registered users, which enhances practical knowledge of students from any college.

Summary of Slides – 3, 4, 5 Thus, through our services, we aim to create a virtual academic campus providing window of opportunities to students to enhance their learning curve.

Slide 6: Now that we have understood the problem and our solutions, let us take a look at target segment. Initially, our focus will only be on engineering and other science disciplines. Our aim?is to have 20-25% out of 5.5Lakh students in Maharashtra registered in our first 3 years of operation, after which we plan to cover other parts of the country.

Slide7:

We would use different ways to reach our users ?from engaging with them online to meeting them face to face in different colleges. We also understand that the richness, relevance and usefulness of the content are the key factors that will help us build a loyal user base.

Slide 8: We follow a proven business model? wherein we Charge our Customers to Engage with our Users. Our online revenue through ads would grow organically as our user base grows. We would also have offline revenue sources like organizing events and partnering with educational product sellers for discount coupons.

Slide 9: Our competitors such as aglasem.com have had success ? after 3 years they have almost a million visitors per month with limited service set. We plan to offer much more. We believe, our vision to bridge the gap across college tiers is our biggest motivator.

Slide10: Access to right information and resources is something we have struggled to find during our engineering days. Having traversed similar path, we empathize with students. We believe we have the skills and the drive to make this endeavor a reality.

Slide 11: We aim to reach a million visitors per month and start generating revenues of Rs. 4 Lakh Per month by 3rd year.

Slide 12:

To achieve the above we would need to invest Rs. 15-20 Lakh in first 2 years, after which we break even and start generating 30-35% profits.

Slide 13: In today’s global markets, Students & Colleges are not only competing locally but with the global players. We are aware that we have herculean task at our hands and today, we make promise to persevere with our mission. We have already embarked on this journey ? signing MoU’s with 2 colleges in Pune ? and we invite you onboard. Thank you very much. We are TheExtraaEdge.com – enriching academic avenues.
