There is no discourse when we state that technology is the lifeline of our daily routine. It had slowly seeped into your lives and gradually encapsulated it. Now the world is looking toward automation. The development of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and many other current day technologies have made our lives easier. Automation took a great leap with the development of Artificial Intelligence which enables the machine to understand its environment and learn on its own.. AI supported with Data Analytics have made the hardest of the tasks easy. Automation is being introduced into the most important sectors making lives easier. The health sector is one of the main domains in which automation is being put in use. This advancement has enabled surgeries being performed by robots as efficiently as any human surgeon. The most commonly electronics used such as televisions, washing machines, refrigerators are taking as new form with automation. The production sector is the major consumer of automation there by reducing production time. Though automation have made our lives easier, there is another side to the argument stating that this is leading to a serious loss of employment. This is not completely untrue. This phenomena can be mainly identified in production sector where all the manual and mundane works performed by labour is being replaced with automated machines. Though it is a heavy investment for the factories to get upgraded with these automated machines, they state that it is a long term investment which is better that monthly payment of salaries. This trend is currently leading to a large rate of unemployment. More than 25,00,000 workers lost their lively hood over the last 5 years. However there is a bright side to this, a recent survey on the employment trends reveals that though this unemployment is to replace manual workers with machines, there will be a lager need for the technical experts to handle these automated machines. There will again be a gradual growth in the employment again within next 6 years. It is clear that technology can never overpower man.

Automation is the creation and application of technologies to produce and deliver goods and services with minimal human intervention. The implementation of automation technologies, techniques and processes improve the efficiency, reliability, and/or speed of many tasks that were previously performed by humans.

Three types of automation in production can be distinguished: (1) fixed automation, (2) programmable automation, and (3) flexible automation. ... Examples of fixed automation include machining transfer lines found in the automotive industry, automatic assembly machines, and certain chemical processes.

Misuse of automation, for lack of a better word, is bad. Automating something doesn't create a process, and if automation doesn't fit the context of what you're working on, it can actually be a detriment.

Advantages commonly attributed to automation include higher production rates and increased productivity, more efficient use of materials, better product quality, improved safety, shorter workweeks for labour, and reduced factory lead times.
