The Flagship event of Symbiosis Institute of Business Management (SIBM), Bengaluru[/b] -Revelation 2017[/b] concluded in full glory on the 22nd of January 2017. The event was electrified with the presence of 900 participants from around 48 colleges [/b]across the country. It started on 20th January and continued in high spirits, amidst much fanfare, for three days.
Revelation, for the first time, created a unique event category - Informals, which was conducted across the spectrum of Electronic City Phase 1, Bengaluru. It consisted of 2 events – SteepleChase and Causal Nexus, which were conducted across two days.
SteepleChase, a unique circuitous race, was marked with a cake cutting ceremony on the first day, post which the race started. The participants underwent an exhilarating blend of Treasure Hunt and other astonishing tasks and fought with a heavy dose of competitive spirit to reach the coveted end. It was crazy fun on the streets and one could find them doing tasks such as Crunches, Decipher the Code, Eat till you Drop etc. A total of 11 teams participated from various colleges across Bengaluru such as IFMR, Welingkar, Amrita College to name a few.
The participants were given destination clues and had to decipher them to reach the destination and move to the next level. The event started at 11 AM and concluded around 6 PM, with Muhammed Noorani and Bhavna Tulsian from SIBM Bengaluru emerging as SteepleChase winners.
The second day was marked by Causal Nexus - a whimsical clash of events, which celebrates the human spirit of survival. It was a wacky adventurous event where one thing leads to another and participants could be seen using every means to survive and reach the top.
It included tasks on the lines of Survival of the Fittest. Each team was given back to back tasks and were judged on time, performance and consistency. In one such round the teams had to roam around the campus and convince the people to buy eatable items from the Food Stalls, thus increasing their sales. The winners of Causal Nexus were Dipesh Singh Rawat and Nikhil Dhawale from SIBM Bengaluru.
The eccentricity of Informals, coupled with the zeal and enthusiasm of the participants made it one of glowing highlights of Revelation 2017.
