DSP Merrill Lynch Asset Management (India) Ltd., has been set up by DSPML and MLAM, to act as the Asset Management Company (AMC) to the Fund.
The AMC has been appointed as the Investment Manager to the fund, MLAM holds 40% of the paid up share capital of the AMC, while the balance 60% (approximately), is held by DSPML. DSP Merrill Lynch, originally called DSP Financial Consultants Ltd., traces its origins to DS Purbhoodas & Co., a securities and brokerage firm with over 130 years of experience in the Indian market.
After a decade long association, DSP Merrill Lynch & Co. Inc. took up a 40% stake in DSPFC and the name was changed to DSPML Ltd. DSPML is a full fledged financial services organization with a broad employee base and offices in Mumbai, New Delhi, Calcutta, Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Cochin.
MLAM is a unit of Merrill Lynch Asset Management Group, the money management arm of ML & Co.
