Don't give them reasons to reject you.

When wanting to employ a new person, companies should focus on the positives. In other words find good reasons to employ the person on interview.

Unfortunately this is not always the case. Many companies look for reasons to reject candidates and these reasons will often be small or not even directly related to the persons ability to do the job.

I have seen candidates rejected because they were late for an interview, asked for too much money, not dressed correctly (too casual), didn't ask enough questions, didn't seem excited, didn't ask for the job and many more.

Whether you agree with this hiring practice or not, it exists. It's often down to poor hiring practices or indecision but whatever the reasons, don't get caught out. Prepare well giving attention to detail. Not only must you promote the positive aspects of you being succesful in the job, you must also make sure you do not give them any reason to reject you.
