does it make sense to do an mba finance in these times?

The world hasn't stopped spinning cos of the Wall Street meltdown. All talks are nowadays centred around this meltdown. This fall down is almost ubiquitous from Tea shops to Trading centres. This is sometimes good in the sense ppl are getting a lot of information handy and sometimes bad cos tings are blown out of proportion.Rise and Fall of markets are like Day and Night, they will come and go and nobody can stop them.Every downfall is a learning.Ppl in Fed reserve are trying to rescue the companies and we will see a small blip in the markets for sometime and this is not gng to stay forever. Moreover,MBA in finance will exist and worth doing till the last penny exists on this earth. If you study well and prove to the world that you are a worthy person then you dunt have to worry abt the economic climate.

i strongly feel that if you do your MBA in finace at this very point of time it would serve as a challenge that would make you even stronger in the future to cope with the challenges in the future. So on a note to sign offf with i would like to tell you'll that if you have the wish to pursue an MBA in finance then go for it.

its nothing like make sense or not. if you have interest in any field you will surely succeed in your chosen path..........

i think what the topic starter said is in terms of recession....but we already hav thread on this topic...pls post there.......

since the only constant in life is change, no need to change your field, if finance is wht interests u, everything else is fine. ALL major Wall Street Fin Instt collapsed, yet they r coping n NASDAQ, DowJones still alive.

Coz they dont have our herd mentality. Think of it as collapse of SBI, ICICI, HDFC Bank, LIC wht will happen next day SENSEX will tank like anything, and all other wud also be hurt.
Reason u know, knee jerk reaction....
