Afzal Guru has filed an application before the Supreme Court and sought an early decision on his plea for clemency. Guru has been served the death sentence for his role on the December 2001 terrorist attack on Parliament. Guru's clemency plea has been pending with the government till yet.
I think Solitary confinement till his death is the best punishment one can get, with all that torture of living in a jail and spending his life doing nothing and feeling guilty for their act is more rigorous where both physically and metally one will be stressed out all that time that he spends in confinement, whereas death will happen all of a sudden and nothing will be achieved, I think Solitary confinement is better than death sentence.
