In many countries, IPTV, is already popular with millions of users. But it has yet to make a mark in India even though leading telecom providers like Reliance Infocom, Bharti Tele Ventures and the state-owned BSNL have rolled out services last year. But so far none has been able to build a significant base of subscribers.
I personally think that India is not ready for IPTV as the speed of internet in our country is relatively low. We are only have a max speed of 2-3 mbps were as in US its up to 20- 40 mbps. India still experiences poor internet connectivity speeds in many cities and towns. Only selective cities have fiber optic networks and we are still waiting for the 3G network.
