Do you think advertisers should now stop using Team India players in endorsements and also as brand ambassadors?

India's exit from the World Cup has shocked this cricket-crazy nation. Fans believe that the country's cricket stars are more interested in appearing in advertisements than turning up to play for India. Some advertisers have already pulled the plug on ads featuring Team India players. Should other advertisers also do the same?
 
yea they shld focus more on cricket than advertisments...coz wen they get money from advt y play cricket...rather get out on a duck and go home-thats the concept developed...the nation suffered a 100crore loss thankx to team india when they did not qualify in the super 6
 
no they r not going to do that ..as indian people will forget all the pain of world cup if india wins one or 2 series against weaker teams like BAN ....and crazy fans will be back in action after that ...

ppl r their fans bcoz of their cricket performance n nt bcoz of their proficiency of endorsing products and services....
i agree with melroy....i thnk cricketers shd focus more on cricket...

the way our cricketers hv entered this "ad-field" sumtimes i wonder whether they are cricketers or models...:SugarwareZ-064: :bigsmile:

carried away by the loss in the World Cup prelim rounds, most of us would agree that the companies should stop team india players as brand ambassdors.

I would say a few top names make most of the money,
perhaps the companies could look at using a team as brand ambassdors
[ say Anchor sponsoring the Karnataka Ranji Team ] so that the
upcoming and financially weak players derive some benefit.
 
advertisers use things that sell

indian team sells no more

therefore they should not be used by advertisers...................SIMPLE!!!!
 
A review of current endorsements,limits on endorsements and consideration of players of other games for endorsements could make a lot of difference.What we need is a regularisation rather than scrapping.
 
i agree that they should concentrate more on criket rather than these addz but if u c add r one of they wayz they earn ha n i say n u cant always blame the criketerz the offerz r also tempting na
 
There should be a seperate monitoring board within the BCCI which must limit the no. of ads the players do. This included with the performance based incentive that is being implimented by BCCI today could improve the player's performance.
 
yes i agree with melroy the cricketers should stop doing advertising, bcoz their profession is playing cricket not advertising, they get a huge income from advertising so why they will play... isn't it..
So they must focus only on their profession i.e, playing cricket.
Even the common peoples can make out that they are not playing for India they are playing for their sake only.... just to earn money.... !

ha n u know if this would have been the situation then India would not have been at the position it is at present in criket we owe all this glory to our criketers if we cant thank them then atleast dont speak so bad about them
 
Yes, the Indian cricketers should focus more on the game rather than advertisement.Why are they addressed as 'Cricketers',its for the players to understand what are they doing.Because as we all know that in India there's a lot of scope for cricket & when thay are so much of expenses incurrred on this game by providing best of the facilities then its their responsibilities to show the best performance but see the fact even though the companies support them indirectly by taking them into the add they still fail to understand their responsibilities.They need to concentrate more on the game.

A thorough research should be done before choosing cricket players as brand endorsers. What kind of image perception they have of the cricketers, what kind of attributes do they relate to these cricketers etc. It's true that the Indain Cricket is passing through a bad time and what BCCI did was also appropriate. The players are over pampered by the media and the board itself. Canon is still using Sachin to endorse its products and I don't think of team India's performance while purchasing the product. And if the product is really good then I dont think I'm going to need any celebrity to endorse it. However proper association between the products and the celebrity is required. You cannot hope to sell Hair clippers if you get Dhoni to endorse it

Media hype has made it more difficult for the cricketers to concentrate on the game...... well shootin for advertisement should be more of a otuing i guess....a short break...
 
yup....the Indian team must concentrate more on their profession...i.e cricket,
the only thing that can stop cricketers from endorsing for ads. is to cut down the use of the products that are endorsed by cricketers.....n if the dd for the products decrease the adverdisers will ultimately stop endorsing Indian cricketers for their product.....this will ultimately let cricketers concentrate more on cricket rather than advt.
