I am sharing a talk with one of my friends who recently made it into KPMG recently. For those who don't have a idea what KPMG is..here's a small brief up:SugarwareZ-200:

KPMG is one of the most biggest and renowned firms in the area of advisory, tax and audit. It has a presence in around 152 countries and employes around 1,45,000 people. It is considered as one of the Big four..the other three being Deloitte, Price Water Coopers (PWC) and Ernst & Young (E&Y).

Moving on with the talk here are some of the things we discussed:

Was KPMG a dream company or you just happened to sit for it?

Reply: The Big four have remained the aspirations of many students from top notch B schools over the years. These companies are all day zero companies and have a exhaustive selection procedure. But if you make it through global opportunities, awesome learning curve and a fat pay cheque are some of the things that await you. Besides a big four as your first employer puts in a lot of weight on your resume. so yes..definitely a dream company for me.

How did you prepare for the interview ?

Reply: Preparation for such companies requires a holistic approach, time and patience. For people who have prior work experience..most of the questions will hover around their experience but its the people who dont have a work experience who have to prepare even more..right from the subjects of your graduation till what you have learnt in our MBA. I had to go through my graduation subjects and my PGDM ones as well.

What is your background and what sort of profiles does KPMG provide ?

Reply: I am computer science engineer and KPMG recruits for profiles like Business Risk consultant, IT advisory, TAX consultants etc. People with B.tech, B.com, BCA etc can apply.

What is the Interview structure for KPMG?

Reply:The first round might be either a GD or a case based interview or both. The second round is an interview with the HR and Technical heads. The third round is an interview with the Country's Business Head or sometimes with the Director.

What sort of questions did you face in the final round ?

Reply: I was grilled about my summer internship, Graduation subjects...I was even told to write down software codes. Questions like Why KPMG and why should we hire you also followed. You can also expect puzzles in this round.

So this was a short discussion with my friend on how he made it into his dream company:)

If you have any queries..please do post..i will be glad to try and reply to those.
