Do women get away with more?

I had an argument with a friend and they got really pissed off. Here's what I basically said: Women get away with a lot more things than men do, even if they commit the same actions. For example, if a woman rough talks a guy, he might tell her "If you were a man, I'd punch you." Or in a custody battle the woman is more likely to get more custody than the man. There are numerous other examples.

Am I a sexist idiot for pointing this out? I ask because that's what I was accused of being. I'm not saying that women have it better in society overall than men do (they're more likely to be battered and raped and underpaid, for example), but they do get away with a lot more than men do, and there's a lot of perks to being a woman in this country.

Am I wrong? If you don't think so, is this the way it should be? And why do you think women get such radically different treatment, even in law?

yes women do get away with it because they know how to do it we keep our guard up unlike men they let their guard down they get careless about what they r doing they don't care

That's not necessarily so. In most states if you need to use your illegally carried piece that is an affirmative defense against the charge of illegally carrying ... also in most states illegal carry is a misdemeanor.

So I guess a good number of those gang-bangers sitting in jail really ARE innocent?

That is an evasive and ridiculous statement. So unless a person practices something, they don't believe in it? That is just stupid. As I've already explained (you're clearly more interested in being evasive and argumentative), I HAVE a permit, and thus it becomes a COMPLETELY moot point as far as my personal situation is concerned.

Saying that a person doesn't actually believe in something unless they physically practice it, whether it is possible or not, has to be the most evasive and downright ridiculous thing I've ever read.

How is that evasive? I think I was pretty crystal clear as to the meaning of what I said.

Here's the basic summary of what you said.

"The 2nd amendment is all the permit I need"
"I need a CCW to carry in my state, so I went and got one".

Those are two mutually exclusive statements. Only 1 of them can be true. Now which is it?
