Do we need something more than theory and degrees?

We prepare for the birth of a child, we provide adequate nutrition to mothers expecting kids. We make these Moms to read good books, watch good movies and suggest them to have positive thoughts. When the baby is born we provide all kind of vaccination to keep her away from disease, infections then why don't we help these kids to prepare for their respective careers ? Why do we presume that merely admitting them in expensive and branded schools and universities would be enough to build their careers ? Why don't we provide them with adequate skills so that we can enhance their capabilities ? Instead of chasing companies to get jobs why don't we try to inculcate capabilities in these kids so that employers come searching them. Though we assume that education is means to secure the career however lately due to massive globalisation and competition alone education won't be able to land us up into a good career, we would need something more than theory and degrees.

I totally agree, mere theory really doesn't help, I know a lot of friends who have degrees but when it comes to a small task even like depositing money or withdrawing money from a Bank Account, they don't know how to do it.

Practical experience and knowledge is far more important, only when one surfaces & gets involved practically does he learn quickly and in a far better way!

Schools & Colleges should concentrate on making students do things practically and not just concentrate on the marks they get in their theory!

From my point of view practical knowledge is much more important than any theory or degree for your career and successful life. There is quote coming to my mind is that "Always be learning something new and always striving to grow". Each day of our life teaches us a new lesson with a new experience.
