Do school kill creativity?

think, in some way, school does kill creativity. Even though, we have to say that other factors kill creativity -TV, etc.

The fact that it is only focused on academical performances really doesn't help. Whenever we realize it or not, this very fact means that there is only one standard to be evaluated on, and that standard is very rational. And since we only encourage rationality, it kills the irrationality of creativity, which over the course of history has created many beautiful things.

But yes. I believe school kills creativity. But it is not the only factor.

My English teacher graded our essays using what she called the "spectrum of meaning." Basically, that meant that your interpretation of a work of literature had to match up, as exactly as possible, with hers, and if it didn't, even if you could support your position, you were WRONG, and you got docked large amounts of points. In other words, the majority of your grade depended on you interpreting a work of literature in the same way as the teacher and all the rest of the class.

Education will not kill creativeness, but the difficulty is basically that our present education system kill creativity. Our current system measures the intelligence on the basis of marks and subjects. Our education system should be in a way which gives more opportunities to extends the thoughts which enables more creativity to flow in our students.
