My vision for IMT Nagpur is to make it abuzz with activity and energy of the right kind, led by students, guided by faculty and supported by administrative staff. Industry interaction and reaching out to alumni are two corner stones to this. We already have invited over 100 speakers in our classroom over the last 12 months, ranging from Country Head of Boeing to Strategy, HR, Marketing, Finance and Operations personnel from a diverse range of companies. Most visitors were extremely impressed with their IMT visit and said they would like to come back.
Alumni meets have been held in Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore, followed by another at IMT campus, and were attended by around 500 alumni in all. CIC and CCC have done a great job publicizing Brand IMT. Marquepedia, a marketing event, and Artha Vyuh, a finance seminar, were held successfully, along the annual fest, Milestone 3, and a techno management conclave, Quest. Our faculties have excelled in publications, hosting of conferences, and other indicators of intellectual activity. Four IMT faculties also taught abroad in South Korea and France this academic year.
The placement process has been streamlined, and is expected to show good results. We did well in executive training with MDPs being run for RPG group, Geological Survey of India, Bajaj Steel and Solar Industries. Another one is slated for Neco Jayaswal group shortly. We also organized a program on Data Analysis for faculty of management, engineering, agriculture and architecture colleges. A five week program for entrepreneurs called SEMAP was conducted by our Entrepreneurship Cell in association with SIDBI and Vidarbha Industries Association.
Just a word about 2010 ranking, Business world, Business India and The week all put us in the top 29-34 business schools of India, which makes us a top-20 private B-School according to these respected members of the media. I am sure we will scale newer heights of quality and respect from stakeholders in the years to come.
