Political Scenario in Delhi
After the former CM of Delhi Mr. Arvind Kejriwal resigned from his position, efforts have increased among other parties to form a government in Delhi. Right now the capital of India is under Presidential rule. The party with the highest votes i. e BJP with 29 seats have declared that if given a chance to form a government they will think about it and if not then they are also ready for fresh elections. The second largest party AAP with 28 seats have been clear with their stand of fresh elections right from the beginning. Congress who won only 8 seats have also declared that they under no circumstances will support AAP or BJP.
With no party willing to support the other, the situation as in who will form the government in Delhi is still unclear. Will BJP, the party with the highest votes be given a chance to form a government and if yes then how will they prove the majority still remains unclear. AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal along with his MLA’s also met the President Mr. Pranab Mukherjee with a demand for fresh elections. They also accused BJP of horse trading by tying to get the majority by offering 20 crores to MLA’s of the other parties. However BJP has denied all such allegations on them.
Congress who had earlier supported AAP to form a government said that they will not support any party to form a government in Delhi. Looking at the current situation only fresh elections looks the way out to form a government in Delhi.
