Criticizing Institutions

Description
The media of course want to make us feel as though we live in a world surrounded by people of wonder and amazement. The author will like to place on record that ordinary junta which includes the author may not have much expertise in evaluating the subject though, which may be sensitive for the kind of ‘rather loose’ opinion being proffered. However a reason for such activism is being addressed below.

Lately, it has become fashionable to criticize institutions an see! "change#$
%eo&le, some of 'hom occu&ying "&ositions of in(uence# )uote e*am&les
from history basis their e*&erience an initiate iscussions for change$ I
agree that some of this tren may ha+e been initiate through social meia
by "acti+e# ini+iuals, but ho' many such ini+iuals 'iel "&osition of
in(uence# or ha+e access to go+ernment ata is anyboy#s calculation$ ,he
&eo&le on res&onsible &osition ta!ing o+er the "fa# signals rise of the era of
crony ca&italism, 'here arguments are being &ut forth basis isolate cases
rather than "ata analysis#$ -e increasingly .n e*/o0cio criticizing erst'hile
institutions an some e*isting "o0cials# criticizing &olitical &arties 'ith
i1ering +ie' in subtle manner$ 2uch &eo&le shoul come for'ar to e*&lain
reason for current hy&er acti+ism since they 'ere ne+er emaning any
change earlier$ 3o' all they seem to be o1ering is e*am&les but no "ata
analysis# is actually a &ointer to their being sus&ect rather than &anacea for
the "right !in of change#$ -hile airing of +ie's by &eo&le is 'elcome,
ho'e+er it must be assesse an &ointe that if they &ertain to "stray cases#
or "systemic failures#$ If they are inee &ertaining to systemic failure then a
systemic res&onse is re)uire other'ise 'hat is being sought is recti.cation
or .* for an incient$ If stats for ata are not collecte, then the go+ernment
shoul be &etitione to gather ata an &resent the case rather then builing
"air# to raise su&&ort for systemic .* 'ith "incients# as e*am&les or
arguments$ ,he &olitical 'isom to e+elo& an e&loy systemic .* for
"incients# must be e+aluate an e*ercise 'ith care because this can ha+e
long term re&ercussion incluing 'hen the current &o'ers that be are no
more in go+ernment$ 4ne shoul a+oi to be seen as singing i1erent tunes
in i1erent circumstances as it lo'ers ones ignity for certain e+en if it oes
not ha+e &olitical re&ercussions as has been the case in Inia 'hich is e+oi
of ethical leaershi& in &olitical front an has to ma!e o 'ith tactical
leaershi& only incluing at the highest le+el$ ,he meia of course 'ant to
ma!e us feel as though 'e li+e in a 'orl surroune by &eo&le of 'oner
an amazement$ ,he author 'ill li!e to &lace on recor that orinary 5unta
'hich inclues the author may not ha+e much e*&ertise in e+aluating the
sub5ect though, 'hich may be sensiti+e for the !in of "rather loose# o&inion
being &ro1ere$ 6o'e+er a reason for such acti+ism is being aresse
belo'$
,he go+ernment seems to be listening to such emans an is in tearing
hurry to ma!e changes to recruitment &rocess of certain categories of
&ositions say for e*am&le in 6igher 7uiciary$ ,his is e+en as no analysis is
&resente for total number of 'rong outcomes +s esire outcomes from this
category$ -e may still ha+e &roblem 'here there ha+e been &rolonge elays
in hearing common &eo&le#s &etitions an simultaneously ha+e a fraction of
5ugments that may re)uire re+ie' ue to inherent failure in higher 5uiciary$
,he )uestion must be raise if the &riorities of the go+ernment are rightly
&lace 'hen a &roblem is being ienti.e to sol+e$ -hy is no rush for sol+ing
the ca&acity &roblem of 7uiciary an 'hy o 'e only 'ant to aress the
&roblem of "'rong )uality# in higher 5uiciary$ I am sure most &eo&le 'ill
agree that the ")uality &roblem# in lo'er 5uiciary is much more an 'hen
cou&le 'ith ca&acity &roblem8 this actually 'or!s to amage the image of
the institution much more than the ")uality &roblem# in higher 5uiciary 'hich
has im&act on a cross section of is&utes only$ 2till our learne friens are
choosing to focus u&on the other &roblem$ -e also ha+e thousans of
is&utes of consumer reressal 'hich are ne+er raise to the right forums
because of ca&acity issues 'ith such institution in say is&utes 'ith telecom
ser+ice &ro+iers, ban!ing ombusman, general insurance, real estate
businesses, an )uality of 'iget$ ,hese institutions o not re)uire much
infrastructure or +ery high egree of e*&ertise 'hich can be a &roblem to
ram& u& of ca&acities$ 2uch ram& u& may bring about a "&olicy change# in
ho' )uality is to be maintaine an ho' istribution must be carrie out
incluing fair treatment to customer across inustries$ 6o'e+er this 'ill not
be ra!e u& because of 'ell unerstoo reasons by the eminent an learne
friens 'ho 'ill burn mi/night oil for builing u& &olitical cases against
selecte "issues9&eo&le9 is&utes# or re+am&ing of a selecte &rocess$
