Setting up computer laboratories in schools and colleges using obsolete computers from offices Setting up internet cafes in villages, thus enabling better communication, facilitating advancement and generating employment Training students in the use of computers and its applications through weekly lectures by volunteer employees Scholarships to students for higher education based on certain criteria

Large number of idle workforce (bench force)- especially youngsters in workplaces ? Interested employees can be encouraged to go to areas affected by natural calamities and help local people ? People will get help, employees? idle time will be effectively utilized ? In return, employees will work under the name of organization, so company will also get publicity through media
Holistic development of street children
Volunteers can devote a couple of hours a week ? Work in association with NGOs with group of 3-4 students with whom rapport is built ? Work towards holistic development of students ? Instill confidence in them ? Improve communication skills and computer skills ? Encourage their thinking ability and creativity

IT companies, with their large number of computers, consume a lot of electricity ? “Power Saving Hour” ? Switching off desktops while leaving office for the day

Air Conditioners – major electricity consumer - especially centralized Cooling Units ? Proper precautions in mind: ? Temperature setting at 24 degrees ? Don?t set thermostat at colder setting when AC is turned on ? Seal doors and windows properly

Awareness Campaigns
Eye donation awareness campaigns in association with eye banks in rural areas ? Blood donation drives at workplaces ? Drives to collect items such as old clothes, old blankets, books and stationery

Encourages employees who volunteers to work with Infosys foundation Mahindra and Mahindra : The K. C. Mahindra Education Trust undertakes a number of education initiatives, which make a difference to the lives of deserving students. The Trust has provided more than Rs. 7.5 Cr in the form of grants, scholarships and loans. TCS : The Adult Literacy Program (ALP) to address the problem of illiteracy. Use of CBFL tool to accelerate learning. CISCO : Cisco invests its best-in-class networking equipment to those nonprofit organizations that best put it to work for their communities, eventuating in positive global impact.
