CODE OF BUSINESS CONDUCT AND ETHICS
MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT AND CEO
“When values are clear, decisions are easy.” This has been the slogan of our operations manual for several years now. However, this serves as more than just a slogan, it is the basis for how we operate our business. Since 1955, Aaron’s, Inc. (the “Company” or “we”) has been committed to providing quality products, ethical business practices, and uncompromising service to our customers. We are dedicated to doing what is right and we expect our employees, officers, directors and franchisees to uphold these same values. These principles are what separate us from our competitors. The following Code of Business Conduct and Ethics (“Code”) outlines our key business practices and ethical principles that all employees must understand and follow.
The Code is not meant to be all encompassing and does not cover every issue that may arise, but instead sets out policies and guidelines for all employees, officers, directors and franchisees of the Company and its consolidated subsidiaries. All of the Company's employees, officers and directors must conduct themselves according to these policies and seek to avoid even the appearance of improper behavior.
You must report any violation of this Code. The Company has provided numerous avenues to report violations (Section 17) either through your supervisor, the Legal Department [678-402-3340], or the toll free Reporting Hotline [888-673-9255] reviewed below. The toll free hotline is administered by an independent third party provider and is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. If you call the hotline, you will always speak to a live person who will process your call and pass it along to the appropriate individual or the Company’s Audit Committee. We would prefer that you identify yourself, but if you choose to remain anonymous in the call you will be provided with an identification number so that you may call back to check on the status of your call.
It is important for all employees, officers and directors to understand that the Company considers the policies and ethical standards provided in this Code as very important. Those persons who violate the policies in this Code will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including a discharge from the Company and, in some cases, civil liability and criminal prosecution. If you are in a situation that you believe may violate or lead to a violation of this Code, or if you become aware of violations or potential violations of this Code, you must follow the reporting procedures described in Section 17 of this Code. We will not tolerate retaliation for reports made in good faith.
