Every one of us will go through loss at some point of our life. It is not something you can be vaccinated against at birth and after (polio drops were so sour, remember?). Life has a way of filling the wounds it created. Your body has an inherent mechanism of clotting after bleeding a bit. The very blood that comes out after a injury and scares you ; is the one that plays a crucial role in sealing the wound .You all posses something that is so mysterious in nature ; that more is known about the Universe than that something. Do you want to know what that something is ? [/b]

It is “YOU”. You are a wonder of nature. A result of millons of years of evolution. Life started from the sparks and hissing soup- like mixture in some Pre-Ancient ocean. We have come a long way from the microscopic amoeba-esque organisms to what we are today. If that doesn’t tickle your hope-sensors; nothing can. [/b]

If we pause to look at Greek myth, Pandora was the first woman to be created and sent to earth. Zeus directed Hephaestus, the god of craft, to create her, so he did—using soil and water. The gods blessed her with many talents: Aphrodite, the goddess of love - gave her beauty, Apollo the patron of Sun (equivalent to Surya dev in Hinduism) music, Hermes persuasion. In fact her very name -Pandora stood for – “The one with every possible gift[/b]”.
When Prometheus stole fire from heaven and presented it to the humans (yeah he was a good guy , not like Kalmadi[/b] and A.Raja[/b]), Zeus in his fury ( He was like the George Bush[/b] of Ancient Greece , just with a Thunderbolt[/b] in his hand rather than the Allied forces[/b])presented Pandora to Epimetheus, Prometheus' brother. With her, Pandora had a jar which she had been forbidden to open under any circumstance. But curiosity hath no bounds, Pandora opened the jar, and all evil contained in it over the time; escaped and bared its fangs on the earth.
She immediately closed the lid, but the damage had been done as it was almost empty, except for one thing that lay at the bottom-most corner, it was what we call as Hope. Pandora was mortified by the consequence of what she had done, and was afraid that she would have to face Zeus' anger yet again, due to her folly.
However, Zeus surprisingly did not punish her. One fine day, Pandora heard a voice coming from within the jar. The voice begged her to open the jar one more time for letting it go. Pandora obliged, and she gave humanity a gift greater than what Prometheus offered – of Hope. Even a fire can’t be lit without a man hopeful of having dinner, chopping at the trees, can it?

The doors of future are ajar –waiting for you to barge in. They won’t be open forever. It is like those limited time sales at the end of year in malls. But even if you miss one; there are many more to come your way. One closed door will lead to another being opened. If we spend too much time staring at the locked door; even the next one will be closed and we will be going to-and-fro along the hallway all our life.[/b]

We have to come to terms with the fact that every thing is ephemeral. Just like the candles that grow smaller and smaller every minute. After sometime the wax will exhaust itself and you’d have to get up and find a new one to illuminate your room. This attitude will let you look at loss in the face and say – “Get Lost, I have better things to do! “[/b]
