Coal India fails to hit output target in June

Mumbai: State run major, Coal India has missed its production target for the June period, and has produced just 32.5 million tonnes (MT) of coal instead of 35 MT. Further, the company’s offtake in June stood at 37 MT against the target of 39.8 MT.

As per the officially disclosed data, the company’s output in April – June remained also remained low at 102.8 MT when compared with the production target of 106.8MT. The Ministry of Coal had earlier outlined the production target of 482 MT and off-take of 492 MT for Coal India this fiscal. The company’s offtake in the past two months stood at 115 MT as against the target of 120.7 MT.
