It is not an easy task to prepare for CMAT as it is considered to be the most significant test after CAT or MAT. Conducted by AICTE (All India Council of Technical Education) the exam has four different sections each with 25 marks. You need to give equal emphasis on each section as negative marking exists in CMAT and every plus point you gain add up to your final score. You must remember, preparations for competitive exams like CMAT, is not an overnight magic, so you need to start at least 2-3 months prior to the final examination. Scan every section you have to attempt and get an idea of what to do. Let us go through each and you may get a fair idea about how to take solid preparation to crack the exam:

· General Awareness:
o This is the most difficult section as the syllabus cannot be defined for the candidate. If you have an exposure to GK, from the very beginning, it will be helpful for you.
o You must be aware of both static GK and Current GK. The former deals with static knowledge based on unchanged data like when was India made a Republic. The latter is all about current affairs that changes on daily basis. So to crack this section you need to be strong in both. A regular exposure to newspapers or TV news will help you a lot to remain updated.
