Arati Porwal, Chief Representative, CIMA India said, "We are very happy to see many of our distinguished students clear the CIMA Gateway examinations with flying colors. The Gateway assessments are taken every year by Cost Accountants, MBAs, Chartered Accountants and other Masters degree holders to fast track their way towards CIMA's professional qualification. Once a student clears the Gateway assessment, they have a very short route to cover to become CGMA's (Chartered Global Management Accountants) that will open doors to business leadership across the world for them. The presence of Indians amongst the global rank holders is a testimony to the abilities of Indian professionals, on an international platform. It goes without saying that our learning partners and study support centers have also contributed to this success."
CIMA has three gateway routes that working professionals can enter CIMA through. The Master's gateway route is an accelerated entry programme to CIMA for people who hold an MBA or M.Com, The Management Accounting gateway for accountants who are members of professional bodies such as Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India (ICAI), And Professional gateway for members of Chartered Accountants of India.
Once a student passes the Gateway exam, which is held twice a year in May and November, he or she is awarded the CIMA Advanced Diploma in Management Accounting and is granted exemptions from 11 examinations of the CIMA Professional Qualification. It also means that the person only has to complete one more level of the CIMA professional qualification and satisfy the experience requirements to be acquire the coveted CGMA (Chartered Global Management Accountant) designation, powered by CIMA and AICPA.
