''Choosing your career: Trends, Truths, and Untapped Opportunities"

In today's world, choosing a career has somehow become more about following a trend than finding a true path. Right after 10th grade, students rush to pick PCM or PCB whith hope of cracking JEE or NEET. And if particularly talking about JEE, its more in demand. Later, B.Tech becomes the default route even its from tier 3 college. Engineering and medical entrances have become more of a societal ritual than a conscious choice.
Unexplored yet rewarding: Exams that deserves more attention:-
While everyone runs after popular options, exams like IMU-CET for merchant navy or NDA/AFCAT for the armed force go unnoticed. These careers offer excellent salaries, exciting lifestyles, and national/global exposure, and most importantly-RESPECT. But just because they aren't hyped as JEE/NEET, students avoid them. Even law entrances like CLAT, or courses like B.SC., design and BA+LLB, are great choices- but are ignored under societal pressure and hnce competition in such fields are low.

Awareness in parents and society is crucial:-
A lot of this trend-following happens because of parental pressure. Many parents believe that engineering or medical are the only path to success. But they often ignore their child's interest, strengths, or career scope in other fields. The truth is- with updated skills and smart choices, any stream can lead to success.
We need social awareness too. Success is no longer about a degree- its about what you do with it. Until society stops glorifying only a few careers, students will keep walking into course they don't enjoy, onlyy to regret it later.

CONCLUSION:-
The problem isn't JEE,NEET,or the popular paths-they're great in their own right. But what's important is knowing that these aren't the only options. If you don't succeed in these, it's not the end of the road. There's a whole world of opportunities waiting to be explored-you just need to look beyond the noise. Chose what's right, not just what's trending.

You’ve raised some very important points here. The societal pressure to choose PCM for JEE or PCB for NEET often overshadows the diverse and rewarding career paths that exist beyond these mainstream options. Many students end up selecting courses just because they are “trending” or due to parental expectations, rather than their own interests or strengths.

Exams like IMU-CET, NDA, AFCAT, and others open doors to exciting careers that are not only well-paying but also bring unique experiences and national pride. It’s true that law, design, and other fields like B.Sc or BA+LLB offer meaningful and fulfilling career options but often get overlooked due to lack of awareness and societal bias.

Awareness is key—both among parents and society. Encouraging students to explore their passion and aptitude rather than just following a trend can lead to happier, more successful individuals. Ultimately, success depends on dedication and skill-building, not just the course you pick.

Thanks for highlighting this much-needed perspective. Let’s hope more students and families become open to diverse career paths and break free from outdated notions of success!
