Change the rules of the Game to usher the true spirit

IPL 5: Cricket like Corporate is a game of individual excellence contributing

to team performance.

To enhance the excitement and ensure that the game is played in the true spirit,

May I suggest a few changes in the rules of the game.....Like

Any dissonance, dissent, dissension, discord with the decision of the umpire AND/OR

unbecoming altercation with the opponent team members is viewed seriously and

brought to justice AT SITE.

The umpires in consultation with the third umpire can take cognizance of the conduct

and, impose /grant PENALTY RUNS to the concerned team or the opponent as the case may be.

PENALTY RUNS: This could be a boundary or a six; depending upon the seriousness and

the repeat of the offence by the team in the match.

Where it emanates from the fielding side: The PENALTY RUNS gets added to the opponent

score or deleted from the target score depending upon if the team is fielding first or

defending the score

Where it emanates from the from the batting side; The PENALTY RUNS gets deleted

from the total score or added to the target score ; depending upon if the team is batting

first or chasing

These will ensure that the spirit of the game is not diluted; save at cost of runs in the bargain.

The bottom line is: Cricket will pave itself to be placed back into that pedestal of

‘a gentleman’s game ‘

No point in conducting autopsy like censure, monetary fine, debarring for future matches

individual delinquents after the match has been played.

It’s a Here and Now affair ......justice is neither denied nor even delayed....

After all who can deny “WHAT HURTS INSTRUCTS ‘

In the ever-evolving landscape of competition and collaboration, the call to "change the rules of the game" resonates as a powerful imperative to foster a more inclusive, equitable, and sustainable world. This transformation is not just about altering the mechanics of how we play; it's about redefining the very essence of what it means to win. By ushering in the true spirit of fairness and mutual respect, we can create environments where everyone has a fair chance to succeed, regardless of their background or starting point. This shift requires a collective effort to dismantle outdated systems that perpetuate inequality and to build new frameworks that prioritize transparency, accountability, and social responsibility. Whether in business, sports, or politics, the goal should be to create a level playing field where success is measured not just by individual achievement but by the collective well-being of all participants. Embracing this new paradigm not only enhances the integrity of the game but also enriches the human experience, paving the way for a more harmonious and prosperous future for all.
