The much revered National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE) has emerged as a centre for managerial excellence by fostering industrial productivity and leadership. Whether be culture, sports or studies, students at NITIE have excelled in each arena of life. Continuing its path to glory, NITIE is celebrating its annual function "Avartan" this year from October 11-17, 2014. Avartan is even bigger and better now. Chosen as the name for the grand unification, it captures the essence of various events coming together in harmony to create a symphony that befits NITIE. At such an auspicious ocassion, Avartan will amalgamate series of events such as Lakshya, Prerana, Empresario, Arohan and Josh.
Lakshya: Every year NITIE felicitates Lakshya Business Visionary Awards to industrial stalwarts who by their exemplary vision and extraordinary leadership have changed the course of the Indian economy. To salute the efforts of great business leaders and to recognize and appreciate their achievements, NITIE this year would confer Lakshya Business Visionary Award to Padmashree Dr. B.R. Shetty, Founder & CEO, NMC Healthcare, MD & CEO UAE Exchange and Founder MD & CEO of NeoPharma and Shri Harsh Goenka, Chairman RPG Enterprises. Cherishing its glory, this year NITIE would confer its first ever "Lakshya Distinguished leader award" to Dr. R.A. Mashelkar, Former Director General, Council of Scientific and Industrial Research and Dr. Anil Kakodkar, Ex-chairman, Atomic Energy Commission of India.
Prerana: This year Prerna is all set to bring together eminent leaders of India Inc. such as Dr. Abhay Firoda, Chairman Force Motors, Mr. K.B.S Ananth, M.D. & CEO of Asian Paints Limited, Dr. Kamal K. Sharma, Vice Chairman Lupin Limited, Dr., Chandan Chowdhury, MD Dassault Systems. The eminent leaders will discuss on the topic "Roadmap to India's progression: Attractive but challenging market".
NITIE Finance Conclave: It is a setup for confluence of some of the brightest minds who run or monitor financial institutions to ponder over some of the burning issues in the world of finance. This year the event is going to happen on October 16th and the theme is “Indian Banking & Finance Sector – The way forward” The discussion is going to center around future challenges in the BFSI sector and the need for financial inclusion. The list of speakers this year are: Mr. Sunil Kakar , Group CFO, IDFC Ltd. Mr. K.V Srinivasan ,CEO, Reliance Commercial Finance. Talesara MD, Pyrotech Electronics Pvt. Ltd.
Arohan: To serve as a string that binds the beads of talents together across the country It includes several programmes such as War of bands, Fashion Show, Solo Dance and Group dance competition, Solo Singing and Nukkad Natak, Lines of graffiti, Collage making, Filmmaking contest and Photography exhibition. Stalwarts from film and television industry such as Shri Tigmanshu Dhulia, Shri Sharad Kelkar would visit the campus to encourage the students.
Josh: Josh marks a sporting tribute to the glorious 50 years of excellence of NITIE. NITIE would host plethora of exciting sports events that includes athletics, football, basketball, volleyball, cricket, etc., for sure would enthrall the sports lovers across the premier institutes of the country. Ms. Shilpa Singh, "I am She Miss Universe-2012" and known wicketkeeper-batsman Shri Naman Ojha, Indian Cricket team would add glory to our event.
