EPC News: 27 August,2013: India,New Delhi: Aiming to fast track the project implementation process, the Cabinet Committee on Investment (CCI) has put forth a 60-day deadline for ministries to clear big-ticket infra projects. The projects outlined belong to the power, coal and highway sectors.
As per the official sources, the Cabinet has asked the ministries to clear about 36 infrastructure projects, presently facing delays due to sever concerns. The stalled projects are being tracked by a project monitoring group for reviewing the implementation of outlined projects.
CCI had earlier permitted approvals for setting up two hydro power projects in Arunachal Pradesh, wherein the panel has till now cleared 171 projects worth Rs1.69 lakh crore.
