wel ther are oder institutions like ICSE dat still have the 10th std baords as an integral part of the testing system...but after CBSE does away wid this.....is ICSE or the oder state baords gona follow suit...voice ur opinions abt whether dis shud b done or not...

I think making 10th boards optional is an excellent decision taken by C.B.S.E board which is a step towards improving the eduction system of India. It will help students to focus more precisely on their career and the field they want to go, from past few years 10th boards were becoming major cause for stress among students and even good students were afraid of the 10th boards which resulted in suicides etc. So i think this is the good step taken by the C.B.S.E board and i am happy to see that this will make students more comfortable and focus towards their careers. I think that I.C.S.E and other boards also must follow this and make 10th boards optional.

i think cbse has taken the right ecision by makin 10th board optional coz i dnt think boards in class 10 has any value but just because of the board exams students undergo a lot of pressure...

There should be standard system of test to be conducted PAN India. This decision of making the 10th board an option, to be exercised by student will do nothng but add to the various category of students which we have viz. state boards. cbse and icse. now there will again be a bifurcation of whether the board exam had been taken in 10th or not. Ideally the barometer for measuring the qualification should be common and should not be made descretionary.

i dont think so i.c.s.e. is gonna do dat. coz 10th is the only standard dat they hav wich represents the board whereas cbse has 8th standard too.
