Starting this year, Common Admission Test (CAT) scores handed out by the Indian Institutes of Managements (IIMs) will come with an expiry tag.

Scorecards of CAT 2011 candidates hoping to make it to any of the 13 IIMs or 100-odd B-schools across India will be valid only until December 31, 2012. Though conventionally CAT scores have one-year validity, it's the first time that IIMs are explicit about the expiry date. No candidate will be able to download the scorecard from the CAT website after December 31, 2012.

IIMs will not entertain queries related to issuance of CAT 2011 scores beyond this date. CAT 2011 will be conducted across 36 cities during a 20-day testing window between October 22, 2011 and November 18, 2011. The scores will be announced on January 11, 2012.
