The CAT committee has extended the last date for registration of the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2011 on Monday. The new deadline is October 4, 2011.
CAT is conducted by Indian Institutes of Management (IIM), in partnership with Prometric. The decision to extend the deadline has been made to accommodate aspirants of institutes like the IITs and Faculty of Management Studies under Delhi University decided to join CAT 2011. FMS decided to join CAT late August after DU expressed its inability to conduct the entrance test.
Registration for CAT 2011 was scheduled to end on September 28, 2011. The computer based test scheduled to start from October 22 is witnessing an increased rush of applicants as the joint management entrance test (JMET) for admission to management programmes in the IITs has been scrapped and more B-schools decided to come under CAT.
