MBA Co-op Program
The DeGroote MBA Co-op program is one of the largest and oldest programs of its kind in North America - and one of only three in Ontario. For over three decades, the DeGroote MBA program has continued to provide students with invaluable work experience and the skills necessary to be successful in the business world.
Providing continuous interaction between the classroom and the work place, the Co-op program alternates four academic terms with three four-month work terms over a 28-month period.
Development of Career Skills
Through participation in the Co-op program you will develop both technical and soft career-based skills including:
• effective communication
• presentation skills
• interpersonal and team-oriented abilities
• project management
• leadership
• ethics
• professionalism
Co-op work terms will not only expose skills that will make you employable, they will also provide opportunities to establish or expand your network of contacts – it is all up to you!
Return on Investment
Our program generates one of the highest returns on investment in the country. A new survey by Canadian Business magazine shows DeGroote Co-op MBAs enjoy a 118 per cent post-graduation salary increase - the average entering salary for DeGroote Co-op students is $31,813 and the average starting salary upon graduation is $69,283 in 2007.
Is this program for you?
Typically, the Co-op program is most attractive to two categories of MBA students:
The New Grad – Since our program requires no previous work experience, it is perfect for a new graduate to enhance their resume. The MBA Co-op program is an opportunity to be exposed to various industry positions and gain valuable work experience that complements classroom business principles.
The Career Changer – The Co-op option is an excellent opportunity to “test drive” new career options. With minimal risk, candidates can acquire skills in a new functional area or in one where specific business experience is essential for advancement.
