This summer its the time for the senile stars to shine in the silver screen.Big B is always ready before the camera.Currently Rajnikanth is also stealing the show.

But do we require such 60+ actors to act on the films.I supppose they can take a back seat and pave way for youngesters.

So can we've a retirement age in the film industry.

Pour your thoughts

-Deepak.

Definitely not, its one of the field which has no age limit, as long as people have creativity and ability to express themselves there is no retirement. In case of Rajnikant, the matter he is still getting the offer to play main lead, people love him and they accept as he is. If people don’t want see him they simply don’t watch his movies. Actor’s job is acting, if they able to do justice to their role it really doesn’t matter what role they play.

Let's see why do we requirement age? This is because the number of jobs are limited and hence, space has to be given to young minds for the work to go effectively.

But if there such a limitation in film industry? I don't think so. If talent is there, and people at the age of 60+ can deliver what the audience expect of them, then there should be no issues... Space isn't limited, so why should existing talents be thrown out? Can u ask ratan tata to retire, just because he is over 60?

Likewise, i don't think one can ask AB to retire. He still has the capability to give dynamic performance which even the young ones won't be able to.

I totally agree.. As Love has no age bar so the film industry doesnt!! Why only AB, we can notice that in Dev Anand too... Though he did not come out with big banners lately but he still has the capacity to work..and till the time these people are able to drive the audiences to the theatres, they are the best...and as we all know experience counts and they get better and better with age.. Rest the Media is alwayz there for them!!!

retirement age shld remove rajinikanth, vijaykanth, kamal and so
can/cannot act shld remove ajith, vijay and a whole lot of jerks!!

No i dont think so that there any need 4 retirement age in film industry...... Acting is an art which grows better wth time and the better u r ..... more demand u hv...

Retirement age not at all reqiured in the film industry...
infact it is one industry where experience earns the stars money...
for example all the big stars in the current industry from George Clooney to Tom Hanks to Amitabh Bachan to Rajnikanth all are the most highly paid actors and a new comer does not get as much pay as these filmstars get..
that is co these guys have experience and they know how to deliver the movies and the scenes the way the audience want to see it...

Rajnikanth has charged Rs 35 Crore for his latest movie "Shivaji The Boss"...
and the tickets are been blacked at Rs 1500 for the first show in Chennai...
which proves that the audience does not belive in the age barrier but they want entertainment and these are the stars who provide them the entertainment...

all in all retierment by age factor is good for Goverment services only..

Retirement age is not needed in the film industry.Yes many actors do get old,but they act even better as years go by,and people never stop watching them,Man! AB can still dance his boots out,so why should he retire.People are loving it,he is loving it by getting paid for it.The entertainment sector is running smooth, well if yo think new actors should be given a chance or something like that than this world is not easy,It basically runs on a rule of every man for himself. So they should earn their way up to the top.

wel i dnt think thr shld b a retirement in film industry. a person shld b allowed to work as long as he wants provided tht ppl lik him. bcoz they r worth it.

kick amitabh... and industry shuts...

Well i dont think so,the are so many actors with a lot of potential just waiting to be in DA spotlight, not that they are not,but wanting to take Ab's position, well it will take YEARS of Harwork...But they want to be like him.Respected Honoured and DA BEST.

Acting is a form of an art and art doesnt relate itself to age. If that was the case then singing , fine art artist n all the art field would have retirement age which sounds absurd. But 1 thing we would definitely like to have is that take a role according to their age unlike south indian films who have actors in their 50's romancing actress of 18!!!!!!!!

no yaar, this is not a work of brain.this is all abt expressins the feelings which get mature with age.though the roles do change with time, but the person matures with passing time.take any example of our stars lke amitabh, rajnikant etc.they hav now more market valu than there younger age.but the audience may not accepet u with the same roles as u r doing in young age.
