can we have a seminar?

hi people!

the way MP is growing with each day is nice to see! you guys have made it through the real hard way to the top! hats off to you!

now that its got to this stage cant we all come together and have a very informative seminar. we could have a few topics that are put on the website and we could have a poll on it. the topic which has the most could be selected for the seminar. topics could be based on the present market scenario. obviously its not an easy job but i guess 4-5 months of preperations and we should be there.

as for the financial part we could appoint a representative from each college to whom the money would have to be given. we could also have only a few seats for students from each college. i guess MP has a good reach in many colleges.

while the polls would be on, the MP site initiators could form a team and divide work among themselves. once the polls on the topic is done we could then ask the team which has been assigned to find the guest lecturer to start with its work.

in this way its not only an opportunity for MP to grow but also in a way generate funds for MP.

we could come up with more plans in future and make MP a better place.

just an idea guys...i am a new member so if this plan had already been shot down then i am sorry..because...i am unaware of it...

Its good you are thinking of mp in a long way..!!

Though i havent got the whole jist of the idea..!! In da sense if we are keeping a seminar what would be the base for it..!!
Could you may be elaborate more on to the process..!!

Mainly i believe this idea would be feasible only after the re-opening of collg's. So we would be having time in hand to actually make a viable report on hw this idea stands..!!


P.s : Mean time could you elaborate on what would be the main purpose of the seminar and whats the target audience we looking over here..!!

what i intended was just a platform for students to meet like minded people. see many colleges cannot give their students an opportunity of having a proper guest lecture. guest lecturer should be someone from the industry. so MP could arrange for a seminar say for eg. SIX SIGMA and we could have a very well known person from the industry to speak on this topic. students could gain knowledge through this. besides its a nice way for MP to expand its activities. MP members could meet. if we have a good speaker to come in and speak MP could find another mention in the much bigger newpapers. and if these seminars are made into a regular affair then MP would make a habit of getting mentioned in newspapers and thus the chance for MP to grow financially. i know i am making it sound too easy but...you know if we make the first seminar a good one then automatically the next ones would be better and more number of people would come and then no one could stop MP from growing!

The idea seems a pretty good one.. We can have a brief discussion on the same in coming days. As you said we have ample time to have the frst seminar a rocking 1..!!:big_grin:

well yeah bhavin thats true that we have forums and discussions...but when you have an actual seminar with a good speaker,from the industry, in front of you i guess it makes a difference. it could be an interactive session too where in the students could put in some questions to the speaker. i agree that forum is a way to share knowledge...but at the same time i am sure you would agree that face to face discussion apart from sharing knowledge helps a person to become confident. in this way MP will help students from small colleges to become more confident too!

nice to see some positive responses and i didnt know we had such a huge member base...this surely would be great to wrok for...well the other thing that crossed my mind was why not get associated with some charity work... like some orphanage or old age home.
