what I feel that a guy and girl cannot remain close friends for long.. love always takes over..sad but true.. its the best thing that could happen to you..you get attached to your friends.. and when you fall in love.. and he / she happens to be your best friend.. then its a lot more easier to carry on the relationship without any hiccups.. and besides.. you don't end up hurting the person in the relationship just because you know him / her too well to hurt him / her.

but about the special bond you share with your best friend who happens to be of the opposite sex!!!! because it makes a hell lot of difference.. you cannot fall in love with every other friend..but only your best friend..

There may be a possibility especially if one is in a co-ed institute and he / she is studying with him / her from the childhood.... there are so many special friends you make sometimes not 1 but many... and you find some1 when you grow up a person whom you love but not necessarily he / she is your friend with whom you shared all secrets... but your heart daunted on some1 else......

so what are your views to this.....

MPites who took offense on the question....Lets just understand that this can also be used as a forum where youth can discuss their issues also....Believe me,i have faced this as a GD topic in some very big B-schools....

I understand the criticism but lets have some good discussion on this.....
 
Well, they surely can. It depends clearly on their interests and all. Its a prisoners dilemma game, where if any of them falters, the payoffs reduce to a great extent. Thus pre-communication strategies can surely help them.

Yes a girl and a boy can remain friends forever but it depends on how long you know each other.

But people are so narrow minded that even if they are not into relationship with each other, they will make it by spreading rumours and all.
 
I believe that a boy and girl be a friend forever and love will not come in between unless there is an attraction. I have tons of friends who are girls. I treat most of them like my sister. Moreover i have already have a girlfriend and respect her and our relation.
