Four Sphere Framework
• Personal Ethical Values
– It consists of the duties, commitments, an ideal that shape and guide an individual’s lives

• Responsibilities as Economic Agent
– The ethical duty involves a promise to use the owners’ resources in the ways that the owners want them to be used

• Responsibilities as Organizational Leaders
– Relates to obligations as leaders of the companies within which business managers exercise enormous power. With this power comes responsibility

• Responsibilities in Cooperative Capitalism
– Community interdependence and strategic alliance with outside groups such as customers, suppliers, local communities, government agencies and other stakeholders

– System was used to market products & services to borrowers and their families – Unauthorized users such as marketing firms, debt collection agencies, brokerage firms were given access to data

– One of the largest data brokers – Builds its vast repository of personal data thru extensive network of contractors who gather information from
• Public filings, financial services firms, phone directories, loan applications • Police and criminal records, school districts, dept of motor vehicles and local courts

• Company sells this personal information to businesses and government

The Risks with ChoicePoint
• Threat they pose to personal privacy and social wellbeing • Quality of data can be unreliable
– Boston Market fired an employee after receiving a background check from ChoicePoint that showed felony convictions. However this report was wrong – A GE assembly line worker was charged high premium becoz another person’s driving record with multiple accidents had been added to his ChoicePoint file
