About BGSU
Bowling Green State University was founded in 1910. The 1,338-acre campus in northwest Ohio, about 25 miles south of Toledo, consists of over 100 buildings. The University offers more than 200 undergraduate majors in seven academic colleges, 15 master’s degrees in over 60 fields, and Ph.D. programs in 16 fields.

At the center of the University’s academic community are the 787 full-time faculty members, who are engaged in teaching, research, and consulting. Over 19,000 students attend the main campus, including 2,900 graduate students. Ninety percent of the students are from Ohio and international students represent 55 countries. The College of Business Administration serves approximately 2,400 undergraduate students and 300 graduate students.

BGSU is conveniently located near several large cities and transportation centers. Air transportation is available through Toledo Express Airport (25 miles) or Detroit Metropolitan Airport (70 miles). Bowling Green also is within driving distance of Cleveland, Columbus, Cincinnati, Dayton, Fort Wayne, and Chicago.

The main campus library houses more than six million volumes. Through OhioLINK, BGSU students have access to an additional 17 million volumes held in Ohio’s other state university libraries. The campus features 30 microcomputer labs for student and instructional use. A 200,000 square foot Student Union, golf course, indoor recreation center, and ice arena provide opportunities for relaxation and recreation.

The campus dominates the small town and surrounding rural community. The city of Bowling Green’s central business area is within easy walking distance of campus and presents a friendly small-town atmosphere. A wide variety of housing is available on-campus and off-campus within a short walking distance. The College of Business Administration has an arrangement with a privately owned hotel within walking distance for guests needing overnight accommodations.

Bowling Green State University’s College of Business has long been considered one of the country’s leaders in graduate education.

BGSU has offered an executive MBA since 1976, making it the oldest in Ohio and among the 10 oldest in the U.S.
BGSU developed the first proprietary executive MBA program of its kind with Dana Corporation in 1976.

BGSU’s Master of Organization Development program, begun in 1975, was the first nontraditional graduate program in Ohio and the first graduate degree in organization development in the world.

Bowling Green State University’s College of Business Administration has long been considered one of the country’s leaders in executive education. The 18-month program is designed specifically for busy professionals who want to:

Acquire a more formal grounding in business principles.

Re: Bowling Green State University’s College of FULL TIME MBA PROGRAM

FULL TIME MBA PROGRAM

The Full Time MBA
BGSU’s MBA program can be completed in as little as 14 months of full-time study. The program serves students with a wide variety of academic and work backgrounds. Although many students in the program possess some professional work experience, none is required for admission.

Our program offers a broad curriculum that provides graduates an understanding of the major business disciplines as well as the opportunity to pursue a formal area of specialization. Some of the more popular features our students enjoy include:

14 required courses regardless of undergraduate major.
Core curriculum begins in July and concludes the following August, just 14 months later.
Intensive professional development seminars that prepare students for successful professional careers.
Tuition assistance through graduate assistantships (typically 90% of students receive significant financial assistance).
Specializations (available in Accounting, Finance and Organizational Change) provide students the opportunity to focus their studies.
Small class sizes, typically 40 students or less, allows for greater interaction with faculty.
Cohort approach encourages networking and team building among students.
A diverse student body that brings the world to the classroom (typically 12-14 countries represented).
Unlike some MBA programs that instill a highly competitive atmosphere among their students, Bowling Green State University’s full-time program is designed to foster a spirit of cooperation among students. Each semester students are part of a cohort of peers that share a common schedule. The cohort experience contributes to the development of skills in communication and teamwork as well as promotes valuable networking abilities that are critical in any career.

In addition to the core curriculum, the program includes modules on leadership assessment and development, computer skills, international business principles, and the foundations of ethical leadership. Students also take part in a series of co-curricular professional development seminars, covering topics such as oral presentation and report writing, team facilitation, effective negotiations, career planning, and organizational politics.

The BGSU MBA program is well-respected for its quality and commitment to the student experience. Highlights of this recognition include:

AACSB-International Accreditation: Only 20% of schools worldwide meet this high level of achievement.
Listed in the 2007 and 2008 editions of Princeton Review List of Best Business Schools including a #5 ranking in 2008 for “Greatest Opportunities for Minority Students”.
BGSU’s Supply Chain Management program named #16 best program in the nation by U.S. News & World Report.
