The author’s message in this novel is to follow your dreams no matter what happens he wisely overlaps another idea i.e. “To familiarize yourself to your situation and to always retain a positive growth and to maintain a momentum towards achieving a preset goal”
This applies to people in general because most people have a dream one time or another .But as some people get older and reality kicks in, people defer their dream and some sadly never pursue them.

Thats one line I really cant stand. Alchemist was a major waste of time for me. I'd rather read "Rich dad poor dad" or "freakonomics" one more time than read a book filled with bs where the child turns into the wind and what not.

Dont understand how management students can relate to it.

"to each his own" i say. besides managment terminology n concepts do not make sense in all thier glory to me anyway. its nice to read about sumthin different than wot kotler thinks about 'coke' n nike' marketing strategies. those r fed to us in lectures any wich way..

Absolutely, depends on individual taste which is why I said, * For Me * it was a waste of time.

Some people prefer to read and enjoy the "feel good believe in yourself come what may fiction". People like me prefer to say away from it and enjoy reading material which has a coherent logic to it. At the end of the day, there will be someone who likes it and someone who doesnt.

As philip kotler said " You cannot be everything to everyone, but you can always be something to someone"

I think its an individual choice, what they want to keep from a book and what not. I have kept the message of "work hard and everything else will follow" or in author's words "when u want something the whole world conspires to help you achieve it". For me its an awesome book. I am completely in love with it.
