A day after launching a massive raid on non banking financial companies (NBFCs) operational in district, the Bokaro administration on Tuesday directed these companies to provide credentials by December 13 or be ready to face legal action.
Bokaro DC Uma Shanker Singh found that about 20 NBFCs were doing illegal business worth Rs 100 crore in the district.
The administration, however, is taking necessary steps to save public money deposited in these companies. Almost all nationalized and private banks have frozen the accounts of NBFCs following a missive from the district administration in this regard.
