BLOOD DONATION CAMP AT IIM SHILLONG
The EcoBiz Club of IIM Shillong organized the second 'Annual Blood Donation Camp' at IIM Shillong, in collaboration with Regional Blood Bank, Pasteur Institute of Shillong, Meghalaya Aids Control Society and State Blood Transfusion Council.
Prof Ashoke.K.Dutta the Director of IIM Shillong provided the inspiration for this camp and encouraged the students to donate blood. Mrs. Natalie West Kharkhongor, faculty coordinator, EcoBiZ Club was instrumental in arranging all the necessary infrastructural support for this camp .The Lions Club of Shillong also collaborated as the main sponsors. The camp saw the participation of nearly 60 members including students, faculty, staff of IIM Shillong and Lions Club members. The total number of donors was 50.On this occasion Dr. W.F. Dkhar, Joint Director, Pasteur Institute emphasized on the importance of voluntary blood donation and its usefulness to mankind. Dr Ranjeeta Momin, senior medical officer Pasteur institute also spoke about the procedures and precautions to be followed by the donors. Shri Deepan Singh Saroda, President Lions Club expressed his pleasure and satisfaction to have collaborated with IIM Shillong in this noble initiative.
Mrs Shibani Talukdar, Secretary Lion club and Mr.BCG Marbaniang, Vice President, Lions Club Shillong also praised the efforts of the students to have come up with such an initiative and in the process contribute to social welfare.
