At BIBS, we had the opportunity of having a different kind of cricket match. This time the teams were none other than the Times of India and BIBS. There was a lot of excitement about the match as for the first time we were playing against the professional players from the corporate world.
The students knew no bounds and cheered the team with all their heart out. The ground echoed with cheers from the students. The boys from BIBS were the “cheer leaders” for the match. The BIBS team was high in spirit and managed to win the match by defeating the opponent, Times of India team by 8 wickets.
Rajarshi Khan from the BIBS team was declared the Man of the Match. He was awarded by Mr. Amitava Bhattacharya, Assistant Vice President, Times of India and was congratulated for some of his extraordinary over the boundaries shots. The students celebrated their victory by lifting up the heroes of the match and congratulating them for the win. Nevertheless, the BIBS cricket team included both students and faculty members.
The team practiced regularly before the match and managed to maintain a brilliant coordination amongst them, which highlighted the sportsmanship spirit of the team.
“It’s a great feeling to receive the Man of the Match award from Mr. Amitava Bhattacharya of Time of India. I am happy as the institute is providing me the opportunity to maintain my playing habits together with studies.”
